A holistic path
Working in the field of addiction recovery for more than 20 years has taught us the best evidence-based approach to each individual struggling with addiction. We do not believe in the one-size-fits-all approach recognizing that every ARI client is an individual with his/her own story and needs. The program is designed to fine-tune such expectations by providing a diverse variety of support groups conducted by licensed therapists and professional counselors.
Our approach to recovery is a holistic path. We believe recovery affects individuals mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Recovery is a commitment to personal growth accepting responsibility for one’s actions. We have had many clients who were not addicts but still struggled with life’s challenges. The program at ARI is designed to explore and discover the underlying factors that prevent the affected individuals from having productive and fulfilling lives.
The family
Addiction is not just a medical condition with a singular form of therapy. At ARI, we believe that the entire family needs to participate in the treatment, re-establishing healthy communication within the household unit. We encourage full participation of families in the support groups. These groups are imperative to the residents’ recovery and highly educational for the families. They will be able to explore new perspectives and behaviors towards their loved ones particularly establishing healthy boundaries. Our family groups are run by therapists with decades of experience working specifically with families of addicts.
- Holding regular family meetings for every client
- Addressing “resistance to change” through group and family sessions
- Exploring ways to fight “destructive behavior”
- Performing “emergency meetings” as difficult cases unfold
- Committing to establishment of a “healthy family communication”
- Providing payment plans for clients and families with “financial hardship”
- Assisting with “going to school” and/or “finding a job”
Recovery
At ARI, we provide a “balanced structure” that supports “long-term sobriety”. Clients are assigned tasks which upon successful completion will put them in the next phase of recovery. Through these phases, clients learn the value of self-care, time management and personal responsibility in addition to cooperation, collaboration and self-expression. These attributes help clients fully participate in their own recovery process. In the last phases of recovery, our residents are trustworthy and have changed into responsible people in society. They are either enrolled in school or engaged in employment and have become role models for other clients.
