A holistic path

Working in the field of addiction recovery for more than 20 years has taught us the best evidence-based approach to each individual struggling with addiction. We do not believe in the one-size-fits-all approach recognizing that every ARI client is an individual with his/her own story and needs. The program is designed to fine-tune such expectations by providing a diverse variety of support groups conducted by licensed therapists and professional counselors.

Our approach to recovery is a holistic path. We believe recovery affects individuals mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Recovery is a commitment to personal growth accepting responsibility for one’s actions. We have had many clients who were not addicts but still struggled with life’s challenges. The program at ARI is designed to explore and discover the underlying factors that prevent the affected individuals from having productive and fulfilling lives.

The family

Addiction is not just a medical condition with a singular form of therapy.  At ARI, we believe that the entire family needs to participate in the treatment, re-establishing healthy communication within the household unit.  We encourage full participation of families in the support groups. These groups are imperative to the residents’ recovery and highly educational for the families. They will be able to explore new perspectives and behaviors towards their loved ones particularly establishing healthy boundaries. Our family groups are run by therapists with decades of experience working specifically with families of addicts.

  • Holding regular family meetings for every client
  • Addressing “resistance to change” through group and family sessions
  • Exploring ways to fight “destructive behavior”
  • Performing “emergency meetings” as difficult cases unfold
  • Committing to establishment of a “healthy family communication”
  • Providing payment plans for clients and families with “financial hardship”
  • Assisting with “going to school” and/or “finding a job”

Recovery

At ARI, we provide a “balanced structure” that supports “long-term sobriety”.  Clients are assigned tasks which upon successful completion will put them in the next phase of recovery.  Through these phases, clients learn the value of self-care, time management and personal responsibility in addition to cooperation, collaboration and self-expression. These attributes help clients fully participate in their own recovery process.  In the last phases of recovery, our residents are trustworthy and have changed into responsible people in society. They are either enrolled in school or engaged in employment and have become role models for other clients.

“I checked myself into Advanced Recovery Institute in Encino after having used for more than 13 years. This place has saved my life in more ways than I can count. The staff’s investment in my recovery is unparalleled. The facility and program are custom tailored to help those in need no matter what your background may be. I had never been in any treatment center before and am glad I chose Advanced Recovery Institute. I’m grateful beyond words for their service in treating my addiction.”

-F.K.

“My name is Mike, my stay at Advanced Recovery Institute began after incredibly traumatizing events in my life made it difficult for me to function at a normal level without experiencing flashbacks. To start, the facility is as beautiful as advertised in terms of the look and feel of the main house. It is expansive and accommodations and amenities are exactly as described by the owners and staff.”

-Mike S.

“I found the bit of sanity I had left after this last rough run, a little peace of mind, hope and the desire to finally love myself at Advanced Recovery Institute. The combination of love, respect, understanding of the disease and the addicts mind along with proper detox meds and a safe comfortable environment allows the addict to be vulnerable and finally begin the healing process.”

-T.R.

“This place is amazing to regain balance in your life! I had the most amazing therapist here. The food is unbeatable! The group sessions and private counseling were both very helpful.”

-S.B.

“Advanced Recovery Institute saved my life! And it wasn’t the beautiful house, pool, or even all that amazing food. It was the people who brought me back to life… Sima: She’s truly special and her ability to lead, manage, AND unquestionably motivate, encourage, care at the same time is something I watched with awe every single day.”

-A.D.

“Advanced Recovery Institute in Encino is a major reason why I’m clean today. I went in barely hanging on and left with a new outcome towards life. Afsaneh and Sima had the utmost patience with me, despite not being the easiest client to deal with. Between always wanting to leave and complaining about this and that, Advanced Recovery Institute never gave up on me.”
